The Future of Blogging*

Thursday, 8 June 2017

I started this blog just under 3 years ago and since then blogging has become even more popular! It's a great creative outlet and provides the freedom to discuss your interests, or even concerns. There are so many different types of bloggers out there, which I can only see as increasing in the future. In my opinion, most of the bloggers I interact with, mainly lifestyle, beauty and fashion bloggers, are supportive of one another and I hope it continues! Of course, some people see others as competition but it's much healthier to see bloggers as a community. It's likely we all face a lot of the same struggles when it comes to blogging and it's great to learn from one another. In the future surely this can only improve? I do hope, however, that the future of blogging will see bloggers taken more seriously. There are a few problems I notice that arise, whether it's being taken advantage of, not receiving payment on time or being asked to write a post for a company that does not benefit them at all. I also believe the future will hold blogger being more vocal, voicing their real concerns and hopefully breaking down the barrier between the blogger and the reader. Video are very popular and podcasts are even making a comeback, yet blogging brings something a bit more personal. I would considered creating videos, but blogging makes sense to me as I enjoy writing. This post has been written as part of Innovation Company's study on what bloggers view the future of blogging to be. What do you think the future of blogging entails?

  3. Great read Leah! I started blogging a few years ago but I didn't actually take my own blog seriously until about 2 years ago. But it was only recently that I became a little more familiar with the whole blogging community, which are all so kind and supportive. It's definitely a community that I genuinely like.
