Goth Girl is a series of books for 7 - 11 year olds. The story is an intriguing tale full of adventures, the perfect way to get their imaginations flowing. The book is full of strange, yet inspiring characters with many literary references. I love the illustrations, they bring the plot to life. It's a great story for the age group as it introduces the reader to a quirky, somewhat gothic genre. The story is based in the Ghastly-Gorm Hall, where Ada Goth and Lord Goth live. He believes children should be heard, not seen and so Ada must wear these large boots so he can hear her coming. Ada and the ghostly mouse, Ishmael, along with two other children, start their adventure to foil Maltravers (the mysterious indoor gamekeeper) plan before time runs out!
